Rita A. Sanders, 84, of 3470 Conk Palmer Road, Malta, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at the Riverside Country Care Center in McConnelsville.

She was born August 27, 1927 in Glouster, a daughter of the late Harley McCall and Blanche Snowden McCall.

She was a nurses aid at both Morgan County Care Center and Mark Rest Center and a member of the Pennsville Church of Christ. She was a 50-year member of the Penn Hobby Club and TOPS.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Sanders, whom she married August 7, 1944; two daughters, Vicki (Mark) White of Malta and Ruth Smith of McConnelsville; one son, John (Linda) Sanders of Malta; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard (Donna) McCall of East Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Dena McCall, Buelah Johnson, Adra Davis, and Mae Nunley; and three brothers, Ronald McCall, Ernest McCall, and James McCall.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at the funeral home, with Danny Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Malta Cemetery.
