Robert "Bob" Dennis Hoskinson, 92 , of McConnelsville, went to be with our lord at 12:20 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011, at the Riverside Country Care Center surrounded by many of his family members. Robert was born October 26, 1919, in West Union , West Virginia, to the late Roy and Fay (Gain) Hoskinson. On August 14, 1943 he was united in marriage to the late Mildred "Marian" Goodrich at the First Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona by Dr. R.S.Beal. Robert was a 1937 graduate of Doddridge Co. H.S. , he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion Post 24 of McConnelsville.He was invited to give the invocations and the benedictions for many Veterans Day Services. He retired from Federal Mogul (Gould) in 1981 after 28 years. Robert was a former President and member of the Morgan County Senior Citizens, through which he was honored by Governor Celeste the "Outstanding Senior Citizen Award" for the state of Ohio in 1988. Robert was a former Pastor for the Mt. Herman Church, active member and Lay Leader for Pisgah United Metodist Church, and for over 50 years he led services at each of the Morgan County nursing homes. In later years Robert had published "Memories of Doddridge County West Virginia, 1920's and 1930's."Robert is survived by three sons, Roy, Daniel and John(Donna) Hoskinson; seven daughters, Frances (Dana)Clawson of Bairoil, WY, Betsy (Gene ) Frash, Roberta Hoskinson,Neva Davis Richardson (Dan Richardson),Janet (James) Thompson,Ellen (Rick) Arnold, and Donna (Mike ) Morrison. He has more than 20 grandchildren and more than 34 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother , Billy, of Clarksburg, West Virginia.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marian who died Dec. 26, 2008; five brothers, Kenneth, Lawrence, Guyle, Jimmy, and Earl; son in law Robert Mike Davis; his grandaughter Angela D. Frash, and an infant daughter. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec, 12, 2011 at the Pisgah United Methodist Church with Pastor Bracken Foster officiating . Burial with military rites by the Morgan County Veterans will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
