Dr. Robert F. Leeper, 80, of McConnelsville, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015, at the Morrison House (Genesis Hospice Care) in Zanesville.
Bob was born July 5, 1935, in Washington County, to the late Frank G. Leeper and Lucy Vickroy Leeper. He was a 1953 graduate of M&M High School. Bob earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1959 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He served as a veterinarian for 53 years in Morgan County and surrounding counties, retiring in 2012. Over the years, Bob was involved with many community service organizations, including the Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, Aladdin Shriners, and the Humane Society.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Leeper of McConnelsville; son, Robert S. Leeper of McConnelsville; daughter, Rebecca (Bradley) Kendall of Dublin; grandchildren, Christopher Kendall and Katherine Kendall of Dublin; brother, Thomas (Barbara) Leeper, niece, Heather (Denny) Puckett, and nephew, Chan (Katie) Leeper, all of Charlotte, NC; and several cousins.
Bob is also survived by stepchildren, Robin (Mick) Freeman of Geneva, FL, Dee Dee (Nick) Lloyd of Cincinnati, Bo (Ruth) Powell of McConnelsville, and Janie (Stacey) Triplet of Malta, and several step-grandchildren. Stepdaughter, Terri Oliver, preceded him in death.
Calling hours will be from 5pm to 8pm on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Services will be held for the family at 11am on Monday, December 28, 2015, with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in McConnelsville, the M&M Fire Department, the Morgan County Humane Society, or the charity of one's choice.
