Robert G. "McCloud" Potteiger, 86, of Malta, died, Monday, August 29, 2011 at 6:00 A.M. at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on May 4, 1925 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late William and Ann Potteiger. He was a retired machinist for the U.S. Air Force (WWII) and spent his retirement years working as a deputy for the city of Chesterhill and then owned his own sign shop in Chesterhill. He is survived by his wife Velma Woodyard Potteiger of the home, two sons, Bill Potteiger of Johnstown and Bobby Potteiger of Malta, two daughters, Sylvia Norris of Pataskala and Dana James of Columbus, three step sons, Arnold Beard of Bishopville, Terry Beard of Stockport, and Eric Beard of Shelby, one step daughter, Debbie Beard of Sharpsburg, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Thursday, September, 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with Pastor J.R. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Ridge Cemetery near Chesterhill with military services provided by the Morgan County Veteran Association. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
