Robert C. White, 76, of Malta, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was born on Sept. 16, 1938 in Pennsville, Ohio, to the late Coral and Louise O'Neal White. He graduated from M&M High School in 1956 and was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Sprint Telephone after 44 years of service where he was a Cable Splicer Supervisor. He was a member and Elder of Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville and served as a trustee for over 20 years for Person-to-Person Ministries. He was a Malta Township Trustee, served on Malta City Council and was an avid hunter, trapper and outdoorsman. He was a man of faith that will be remembered for his hugs, smiles and his helping hand. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Joanne Brown White of the home, 3 sons, John and Anne White of Portland, OR, James and Annalisa White of Malta and Joel and Tatia White of Mill Run, PA, 1 daughter, Kelly Jean and Jack Lollar of Columbus, GA, 3 brothers, Ronald and Donna White of Zanesville, William and Susie White of Granville and Thomas and Cinda White of McConnelsville, 2 sisters, Betty and Gene Wilson of Heath and Mary Rosalie Linscott of Zanesville, 8 grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Jean Jahn of Malta and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Sandra Lynn, 1 brother, Richard White and a sister, Carolyn Sue Ross, 4 nephews, David Ross, Michael Jahn, Jeff White and Mark White, 1 niece, Dixie Lyons. Services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville with Evang. Vernon Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Weds, May 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Main Street Church of Christ Missions or Youth Fund.
