Roger L. Hambel, 82, of Malta, passed away on Mon, July 15, 2024 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.  He was born on May 23, 1942 in Rousseau, Ohio to the late Wendell and Alta Farus Hambel.  He retired from Miba where he worked as a Tool & Die Machinist.  He was a member of the 7th Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville, an avid golfer in the Lakeside Mens League and loved to Karaoke.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Sparks Hambel, a son, John (Julie) Hambel of Charleston, W.Va. and daughter, Lori (Ronnie) Dille of McConnelsville, 3 brothers, Ronald Hambel of McConnelsville, Randy (Tammy) Hambel of Zanesville and Mike Hambel of Stockport, 5 grandchildren, Alex (Allyson) Hambel, Tess (Kris) Born, Morgan (Stuart) Hambel, Luke and Mark Thompson and 3 great grandchildren, Brooks Hambel and Liam and Finn Born.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Robin Hambel.  Services will be held on Fri, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the McConnelsville Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family on Thurs, July 18 from 6-8 P.M. and 1 hour prior to the services on the day of the funeral.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
