Roger E. Sharkey Sr., 68, of 2945 Stoney Point Rd., Malta, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home.

He was born September 13, 1944 in Perry County to the late Erma Sharkey Bobb. He was retired from Nelson McCoy Pottery.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dunkle Sharkey whom he married October 28, 1972; three daughters, Melissa (Don) Waters of McConnelsville, Cindy Sagle of McConnelsville and Christy Newton of McConnelsville; one son, Eugene (Dusty) Sharkey of Malta; 11 grandchildren and one great grandson; five sisters, Diane Bobb of Crooksville, Linda Nelson of Crooksville, Debbie Edgell of Crooksville, Becky Forestor of Malta, and Donna Neff of Crooksville; one brother, Rick Bobb of Roseville.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death be one brother, Mike Sharkey; and son-in-law, Ryan Newton.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday January 7, 2013 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 8, 2013 with Pastor Galen Finley officiating.
