Roger Price VanNess, 66, of Stockport, died on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at 3:48 P.M. at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born on February 7, 1949 in Chesterhill, Ohio to the late Price and Donna Mae Harris VanNess. He retired from the Muskingum Valley River Parkway where he worked as a lock tender and was a farmer. He was a member of the F.O.E. # 2187 in McConnelsville. He is survived by 2 sons, Roger Paul VanNess of Pennsville and Tracey VanNess of Stockport, 1 step-son, James B. Logan of Michigan, 2 daughters, Carol Matson of Stockport and Teresa McIntire of Thornville, 3 step-daughters, Carole Wogan of Dayton, Cherryl Wallman of Silverton, Oregon and Stephanie Everett of Aumsville, Oregon, 2 brothers, Charles VanNess of Stockport and Darrell VanNess of McConnelsville, 2 sisters, Patty Cramer of The Plains and Paula Brownrigg of McConnelsville, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia VanNess. A graveside memorial service will be held on Sat. Sept. 19, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Chesterhill Cemetery.
