CHESTERHILL - Ronald E. Mayle, 71, of Main St., Malta, passed away at 12:57 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Sharpsburg, to the late Willard Mayle and Martha L. Mayle. He was a retired supervisor at American Cyanamid (Cytec Industries) and an Army veteran. He wa a Methodist by faith, a member of the NRA, and lifetime member of the North American Hunting and Fishing Club, and loved pitching horse shoes, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Smith Mayle of Chesterhill; one son, Rodney (Jennifer) Mayle of Chesterhill; two daughters, Tonya (Glen) Mayle-Tabler of Chesterhill and Shaunda (Todd Butcher) Mayle of Athens; two sisters, Mary Helen Norman of Malta and Martha Ann Kennedy of Zanesville; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dave Mayle. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday, Feb. 5, at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and one hour prior to the service Friday, Feb. 6, at the church. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Mount Hermon Church, with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating.
