Rose Marie Groah, 82, of McConnelsville, Formerly of Zanesville, passed away on Weds. Jan. 18, 2017 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. She was born in Crown Hill, WV, on May 11, 1934 to the late Jennings W. and Marie H. Yorke Groah. She worked for the Muskingum County Welfare Department for over 26 years and was a member of the McConnelsville Church of Nazarene. She is survived by two brothers, David and Pat Groah of Stockport and Jennings W. Jr. and Helen Groah of Mims. FL, one sister, Shirley Rowland of Burlington, NJ and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Frances Nicely (Dec. 15, 2015). Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Stockport. Friends may call on the family on Thur. Jan 19, 2017 from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
