Rosie E. Cox, 83, of Malta, passed away February 11, 2026 at Willow Haven Healthcare Center in Zanesville with her family at her side. She was born March 10, 1942 to the late Hobart and Winifred (Snide) Hinkle. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family in person or on the telephone. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be missed greatly. She is survived by her daughter Jodi (Larry) Lindberg of Dover; son Donald Newton, a beloved granddaughter Marissa Lindberg of Massillon; a stepson Tim Cox of Zanesville and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Howard Cox who passed away November 29, 2017; her sisters Ellen Corder, Mary Hale, Geraldine Wilson, Lura Musser and Carrie Stephens; and brothers, Robert Hinkle, Chuck Hinkle, Hobart Hinkle Jr. and an infant brother. Funeral service will be Tues. Feb. 17, 2026 at 12 Noon at Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville, burial following at Malta Cemetery.
