Roy V. Hosom, 80, of Malta, passed away on Tues. Jan. 24, 2017 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on March 9, 1936 in Malta to the late Raymond and Mary Vorhies Hosom. He spent his life raising his family and in his early years he enjoyed driving a milk route for Cottage Creamery in Orrville. He later worked as a self-employed carpenter and had a small engine repair shop. He is survived by his son, Roy E. Hosom of Mt. Gilead, three daughters, Karen and Eddie Keffer of Stockport, Brenda and Tom Harden of Buchtel and Lisa and Michael King of Malta, a brother, Rex Hosom of Malta, three sisters, JoAnn Raines of Pennsville, Barbara Rainey of Philo and Debbie Talbott of McConnelsville, 10 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ada Mae Cunningham Hosom, two sons, Jeffery and Randy Hosom and three brothers, Carlos, Jerry and Raymond Hosom. Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Burial will follow in the Malta Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, Jan. 29 from 4-7 P.M.
