Rupert D. "Duke" Bebout, 79, of Stockport, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010.

Duke was born June 20, 1930 in the East Windsor Community of Stockport to the late Carl Dennis and Mary Belle Warfield Bebout. Duke lived most of his life in Morgan County. He was an avid horse man, farmer, and farm equipment salesman. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a former member of the Stockport Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a charter member of the Stockport Volunteer E.M.S.

Duke is survived by his daughter, Kim (Randy) Stewart of Stockport; son, Randy (Lori) Bebout of Stockport; daughter-in-law, Linda Bebout of McConnelsville; and former wife of 27 years, Mary Francis Russell of Beverly; grandchildren, Jake and Kyle Stewart, Kayla Bebout, and Nathan and Levi Bebout; also surviving are brothers, Paul Emerson (Annabelle) Bebout of McConnelsville and Gary Alan "Butch" Bebout of Stockport; and a sister, Mary Lee Fuller of Mesa, AZ; also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, his horses and his dog, Tanner.

Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his oldest son, Roger Bebout; brothers, Carl Eugene Bebout and James Dewey Bebout; and sisters, Lura Louise Vaughan Brooks and Ella Marjorie Smith.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 7, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Tuttle officiating with the burial in Stockport Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Morgan County Veterans Group.
