Ruth A. Smith, 71, of McConnelsville passed away at 7:30 p.m. Friday February 10, 2017 at the Willows Center in Parkersburg, W. V. She was born August 3, 1945 in Detroit, Mi. to the late Chester Sanders and Rita McCall Sanders.  Ruth worked as a L.P.N. at the former Parmiter Nursing Home, Marietta Convalescent Center, Marietta Memorial Hospital, and the Washington County Home. She was a member of the Pennsville Church Of Christ.  She is survived by two sons, Tim (Kelly Marie) Garretson of  Parkersburg and Terry (Valencia Karel ) Garretson of Marietta; a sister, Vickie (Mark) White of Malta; and a brother, John (Linda) Sanders of Malta; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her son, Anthony Garretson. Calling hours will be Monday, February 13, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 14, 2017  from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Laughery  officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
