MCCONNELSVILLE - Ruth Mae Veyon, 64, of Rainey Hill in Malta, died at 11:17 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Genesis Health and Rehab of McConnelsville. She was born March 19, 1944, in Sayre, to the late Worley B. and Leona May Nelson Pettet. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother for 40 years. She was a member of the Zion Christian Union Church in Portersville, Chapion Grange 738 and was active in 4-H for over 22 years. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Veyon of Malta, who she married on Aug. 2, 1968; two sons, Kelly (Teresa) Veyon of Beverly and Jason (Alicia) Veyon of Pennsville; a daughter, Kim (Calvin) Dulaney of Malta; four sisters, Flossie Dailey and Junaita VanHorn, both of McConnelsville, Marjorie Heine of Winterset and Judy Bizic of Cadiz; and nine grandchildren, Eddie, Justin, Derek, Kerri, Brody, Colin, Laken, Haylea and Laci Veyon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Raymond Pettet; another brother, Rodney Pettet; and a granddaughter, Ashlea. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Matheny Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at the Zion Christian Union Church with Pastor Charlie Mollahan officiating. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery. Click to View Video Memorial
