Sammie L. Hatfield, 75, of Stockport passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 at the Highland Oaks Health Center.

He was born August 27, 1940, in Stone, KY, to the late Albin Hatfield and Edith Irene Price Hatfield.

Sammie was raised by Albin and his late mother, Larue McKee Hatfield.

He was a semi-truck owner and operator for many years, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Sammie was a former member of the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Genevieve England Hatfield; a daughter, Sandie Tigner of Stockport; a son, Dion Hatfield of Burnette, TX; four grandchildren, Amanda (Ed) Cartwright, Vondale Ridenour, Sammie (Connie) Hatfield, and Raymond Hatfield; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Bellinoff of Burnette, TX; four brothers, Glen (Debbie) Hatfield of Guysville, Jerry Hatfield of WI, David (Phylis) Hatfield of IL, and Albin Hatfield, Jr. of TX.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daren Hatfield; and a sister, Jeannie Gass.

At Sammie's request, no services will be held and a caring cremation will take place.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department.
