Shirley J. Hartleben, 85, of Dale, passed away on Sat. March 13, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on Feb. 25, 1936 in Dale, Ohio to the late Jerry Waite Jr. and Geraldine Yarnell Waite.  She was a homemaker and loved raising her children.  She was a devoted donator to the St. Jude Hospital.  She is survived by 3 sons, Mike (Peggy) VanDIne of Stockport, Tim VanDine of Zanesville and Rick (Dee) VanDine of McConnelsville, 2 daughters, Susan (Don) Jackson of Stockport and Carol (Tim) Martin of Stockport, 2 step-daughters, Jenny (Dale) Pugh of Stockport and Debbie Hartleben of Belpre, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hartleben, 2 brothers, Bill and Tom Waite, 2 sisters, Elaine Welch and Evelyn Blind, a grandson, Joe Martin and a step-son, Bobby Hartleben.  A funeral service will be held on Weds, March 17, at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Ellis Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 11-1 P.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence top the family go to www.mathenyfh.com.
