Sonya Hryb, 89, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sat, Dec. 23, 2023 at the Riverside Landing Nursing Home in McConnelsville, Ohio.  She was born on Oct. 18, 1934 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Edward and Thelma Campbell Manly.  She worked as a school teacher for over 42 years in the Morgan Local School District.  She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Ohio University's Women's Club and the Morgan Hills Garden Club.  She is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth Hryb of Vienna, WV and David (Cecelia) Hryb of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Amy (William) Devereaux of New Smithfield, RI; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Hryb, Eric (Emily) Hryb, Cameron Hryb, Will Devereaux, Nick (Sarah) Nielsen and Brian (Christina) Neilsen and a great grandson Monty Hryb.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Hryb; and a brother, William Manly.  Services will be held on Fri, Dec. 29, 2023 at 3 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  Friends may call on the family from 1-3 P.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com
