Steve D. Cotton, 65, of McConnelsville, passed away at 9:05 p.m. November 21, 2013, at the Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born March 21, 1948, in Zanesville, the son of the late Art Cotton and Doris Davis Cotton.

Mr. Cotton was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 24 in McConnelsville.

He is survived by his widow, Betty; son, John Cotton of McConnelsville; brother, Bob (Avel) Cotton of Cambridge; sister, Linda Cotton of Cambridge; nieces Mellisa Cotton and Shannon Smith; great-nieces Hannah and Hallie Cotton; and great-nephew, Quinn Smith; two lifelong friends, John Kitts and Clinton Denton; and his dog, Josie.

A caring cremation will take place without any services.

Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville is in charge of arrangements.
