Terry L. Nelson, 61, of Malta, passed away on Thurs, Jan. 11, 2024 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.  He was born on Oct. 27, 1962 in Mason W.Va. to Donald and Wanda Smith Nelson.   He was a truck driver for Rodney Rohrbaugh Trucking and also a Deerfield Township Trustee for 16 years.  He was a member of the Cross Roads Fellowship Church in Malta.  He is survived by his mother, Wanda Nelson of Malta, wife, Chantelle Balderson Nelson of the home, 2 sons, John Hampton of Malta and Austin (Izabo) Hampton of Jacksonville, 3 daughters, Shaela (Lee) Bryant of Kenna, W.Va, Jennifer (Gavin) Underwood of New Lexington and Kayla (Jerramie) Callhan of Lancaster, a Brother, Randy (Trista) Nelson of Malta, a sister, Clara (Craig) Richardson of Malta, Sister-in-law, Ellen Balderson of McConnelsville, grandchildren, Chloe, Kolton, Presley, Liam, Riley, Ava, Meckenzie, Adien, Brooklynn and Sydney and many adopted grandchildren, nephews Ryder, Trayton, Ben and Adam, special friends, Chris and Jeane Kincaid and his faithful dog, Tucker.  He is preceded in death by his father and a brother, Gary Nelson.  Services will be held on Mon, Jan. 15, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with a private family graveside service following.  Friends may call on the family from 10-12 on the day of the services.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church or the Morgan County Coon Hunters Lodge.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
