Rev. Chandler Thomas Beelat Neff, 79 of McConnelsville, died on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born on November 14, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William Beelat and Helen Chandler Beelat Neff. Tom was a minister in the Presbyterian Church and active in all levels of the church. He retired from serving the McConnelsville and Deerfield Presbyterian Churches and then served the Barlow Presbyterian Church for several years during his retirement. He was an EMT and Chaplin of the M&M Vol. Fire Dept. and became an honorary member in 2002. Tom loved everyone in his community and was very dedicated to serving and helping the community. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lela Johnson Neff of McConnelsville, 2 daughters, Shirley (Darren) Cox of Little Hocking and Kristine Neff of Belpre and 9 grandchildren, Andrea, Jessica and Stephen Neff, Joseph, Danielle and Tyler Cox, Alicia Neff and John and Charles Rexford. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Charles O. Neff and 1 son, Gregory Thomas Neff. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at the McConnelsville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Barbara Morrison officiating. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the M&M Vol. Fire Dept.
