Vera Mae Fluharty Bratka, 92, of McConnelsville, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at the Highland Oaks Health Center, in McConnelsville.

She was born August 1, 1923, in Deerfield Township, Morgan County, to the late Thurman and Goldie Frash Fluharty.

Vera and her late husband, Bill, owned and operated the Chatterbox Restaurant, in McConnelsville, from 1949-1993.

She is survived by nieces, Marilyn Davis Williams, Vonda Nelson Medley, and Kim Fluharty Work; nephews, David Fluharty, Gary Fluharty, Randall Fluharty, Austin Fluharty, and Greg Fluharty. Also surviving are two very caring great-nieces, Vickie Overmeyer and Angela Hacker; several great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.

* Vera will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, of 61 years, Howard (Bill) Bratka; a brother, Raymond Fluharty; and sisters, Helen Nelson and Virginia Davis; nieces, Nancy Reeder and Sharon Gray; and nephews, Robert (Bob) Davis, Rodney Nelson and Fred Fluharty.
