Vera P. Smith 88, of McConnelsville passed away at 12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at her home.She was born April 8, 1923 in Sayre the daughter of the late George Dennis and Mamie Cress Dennis. She was a housewife and a former member of the Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville.She is survived by two daughters Susan (Carl) Russell of Stockport, Jan (Dave) Hammer of Nashport; one son Mike (Ellen) Smith of McConnelsville; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; one brother Rev. Carl (Frances) Dennis of Nashville , Tennessee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Herman I. Smith who died in 1995 one son Thomas Smith one daughter Brenda Smith,two grandchildren Jessie Russell and Brady Walker, three sisters Glena Dennis, Joan Smythe, and Flossie Woodard; three brothers Ted Dennis, Kenney Dennis and Theron Dennis.Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Miller-Huck Funeral home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. .
