Vernon E. Guinn, 83, of Stockport, died on Sun. March 16, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 21, 1931 in Wood County, W.Va. to the late Clarence E. and Nellie Freda Lott Guinn. He retired from Interlake in Beverly and loved working on the farm raising his Charlois Cattle. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Protestant by faith, a member of the Beverly Eagles, NRA, the Morgan County Farm Bureau and he enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and the Morgan County Fair. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene Sellers Guinn, 3 sons, Roger (Debra) Guinn, Greg (Kitty) Guinn and Charles (Beth) Guinn all of Stockport, 3 daughters, Judy (Lloyd) Smith of Bellville W.Va., Dedra (Rick) Smith of Waterford and Rhonda Moore of Stockport, 1 sister, Betty Pierce of Parkersburg, W.Va., 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother James Guinn and a son-in-law, Steve Moore. Graveside services will be held on Weds. March 19, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oakland United Methodist Cemetery near Stockport with Pastor Richard Purvis officiating. Friends may call on the family on Tues. March 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church c/o Ruth Cunningham 5470 Scott road Stockport, Ohio 43787. The family will be having a meal and fellowship at the Palmer Community Building after the services on Weds.
