Virginia Lee Norris, 81, of Cutler, died on Sat. Dec. 21, 2013 at her residence. She was born on March 1, 1932 in Greens Run, Ohio near Glouster to the late Leo James and Fearl B. Harris Tate. She graduated from Bartlett High School and then attended Nursing School. She worked as an LPN at O'Blenness Hospital in Athens, Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta and retired from the Convalescent Center in Marietta. She was a member of Bethel Wesleyan Church near Amesville, the Multicultural Genealogical Center in Chesterhill, the Cutler Community Ladies Aid, Bartlett Senior Citizens and volunteered at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Tim) Blair of Cutler. A niece that she raised Candy Norris of Cutler. 2 brothers, Paul Tate of Canal Winchester and Don Tate of Columbus, 3 sisters, Cathy Davis of Canal Winchester, Judy Smith of Belpre and Rita Tate of Groveport. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Norris, 2 brothers, Dwight and Jimmy and 2 sisters, Esther and Frani. Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at the Bethel Wesleyan Church near Amesville. Burial will follow in the Southland Old Quaker Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 from 3-7 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
