Virginia Anna Roach, 92, of McConnelsville, daughter of the late Joseph Anthony and Harriet Florence McElfresh Biedenbach, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 5, 1920 in Malta. She spent most of her life in Morgan County. She was employed at the former Finley Packing Plant in McConnelsville and Phillips Industries (Malta Manufacturing) in Malta. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in McConnelsville.
On June 4, 1941, she was united in marriage with Bernard J. Roach, who passed away February 9, 1994.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Charles (Margaret Ann) Brooks, Mrs. James R. (Carolyn Sue) Ashton, Eileen Pettet, Mrs. Roger (Janet F.) Rowland, Janette Kittle, Mrs. Ranny (Diana) Hollabaugh, and Mrs. David (Judith) Drake; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers; three sisters; one daughter, Barbara Hall; one grandson, Thomas Lemon; one granddaughter, Jimi Sue Ashton; one great- grandson, Edward Van Horn; and one great-granddaughter, Whitney Lemon.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15.
Burial will follow in the McConnelsville Cemetery.
