Virginia M. "Ginny" Snyder, 86, passed away at 9 p.m., March 29, 2014, at her home surrounded by family and friends and her dog Maggie. She was born Nov. 4, 1927, in North Lima, the daughter of the late Norman Lehman and Lena Metzler Lehman. She was a retired English Teacher for Poland Seminary High School, where she was the chairman of the English department. She was a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Youngstown State University with a Masters Degree. She was also a member of the Malta United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, George L. Snyder, of 38 years; daughter, Becky Maikranz Jarvis of McConnelsville; two grandchildren, Jamie (Greg) Maikrantz Haase and Katie Maikranz; three great-grandchildren, Gregory, Jack, and Olivia; two sisters, Ruth Doyle of Findlay and Ruby Munholland of Struthers; four step sons, George H. Snyder of Lexington, Ky., Brandon Snyder of Sarasota, Fla., Cary (Jennie) Snyder of Orlando, Fla., and Kelly Snyder of Tampa, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John (Jack) Phillip Maikranz; first husband, Chester (Tink) McPhee; second husband, Jack Maikranz; and one sister, Louise. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Malta United Methodist Church, where services will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Russ Harper officiating. Private burial will be held on Wednesday for the family in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
