Virginia Ellen Wilson, 94, of McConnelsville, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. She was born Feb. 19, 1922, in New Straitsville, to the late George Vernon and Sarah Dishon Vernon. She enjoyed living on the river and often fished and boated. She also enjoyed spending her winters in Florida along the beach. Virginia is survived by her son, Jerry (Joan) Hite of McConnelsville; one sister, Kathleen Jones of New Lexington; four grandchildren, Jerry (Debbie) Hite of New Straitsville, Debi (Steve) Tootle of Logan, John (Melissa) Hite of Stoutsville, and Jim (Karen) Hite of Stoutsville; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Wilson; five brothers; and three sisters.

At her request, a cremation will take place. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
