Wilfred O. Hill, age 92 of Malta, formerly of Chesterhill, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 16, surrounded by his loving family, at Genesis Health Care Center in McConnelsville. He was born on January 23, 1917, in Canaanville, the son of the late Alfred O. and Carrie Crawford Hill. He was retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio and a retired farmer, and was a WWII Army Veteran. Wilfred was a faithful member of the Chesterhill United Methodist Church, the Corinthian Lodge # 111 F.& A.M. of McConnelsville, American Legion, Malcona Post # 24 of McConnelsville, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Aladdin Temple Shrine of Columbus, Morgan County Shrine Club, member and past President of the Morgn County Farm Bureau ,Director and Board Member of the First National Bank of Southeastern Ohio, Charter Member of the Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Department, Pennsville Grange and the Quarter Century Club of Columbia Gas. He is survived by his wife Bessie Justin Hill of the home, 2 daughters: Ajuana Faye Worthington of Zanesville, Arita Rae (Meredith) Ellis of Chesterhill; 7 grandchildren: Patti (Jamie) White of Malta, Jim(Renee) Worthington of Frazeysburg, Kerri(Mike) Beam of McConnelsville, Alan(Kris)Ellis of Beverly, Aaron(Belinda)Ellis of McConnelsville, Teresa(Brett)Brown of McConnelsville, and Trina(Randy)Richards of Marietta; 22 great grandchildren, 9 great,great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Mabel(Janie)Ogg and Nelma Justin, and several nieces and nephews. Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, I son-in-law, Fred Worthington, and 2 sisters: Frances South and Leota South Bailey. Services will be held at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. With Pastor Charles Simmons and Tim VanHorn officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chesterhill Cemetery with Military Honors . In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Chesterhill United Methodist Church or the Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Department.
