Obituary

William "Bill" M. Clemens, 74, of Malta, passed away on Sat., March 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 29, 1942 in Malta to the late John J. and Aileen "Short" Masterson Clemens. He worked as a foreman for the Electricians Local IBEW #71 in Columbus as well as part owner of Clemens Tractors in Malta. He served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was a long time Member of the Morgan County School Board, Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center, VFW Post #4713 in Malta, American Legion Post # 24 in McConnelsville, Eagles Post # 2187 in McConnelsville and Valley Lodge #145 in Malta. He is survived by 2 sons, John (Alynn) Clemens of Malta and Bart (Christina) Clemens of McConnelsville, 2 daughters, Susy (Eric) Lambes of Zanesville and Mary (Russell Heben) Clemens of McConnelsville, 4 brothers, Mark Clemens, Jim Clemens, Sam Clemens and Jack Clemens all of Malta, 2 sisters, Jerry Lou Matheney and Phyllis Dearinger both of Malta, 6 grandchildren, former wife Iris Roe and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sheila Clemens and a sister Edith Rucker. Services will be held on Weds., March 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Wiseman Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be on Tues., March 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with Masonic services following at 8 P.M.
