William E. Conroy, 84, of McConnelsville, formerly of Gahanna, died on Weds. May 15, 2013 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on Feb. 26, 1929 to the late William W. and Hazel Earl Conroy. He was an electrician out of Union IBEW 683 of Columbus and was the Gahanna electrical inspector until his retirement. He served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Gahanna VFW Post # 4719, Port-o-Morgan Boat Club of McConnelsville and a life long member of the NRA. He is survived by a son, William E. (Cynthia) Conroy of Granville, two daughters, Connie Rust of McConnelsville and Lorene Havens of Apex, North Carolina, one sister, Ruth Ellen Poth of Columbus and two grandchildren, Ashley and Branden Havens. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary Lou Thimmes Conroy. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the St Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2-5 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.
