William Luther Mayle, 86, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 20, 1930 in Lathrop, Ohio to the late William L and Sarah Faye Mayle. He was a retired Construction worker in the Columbus area out of Local #423 in Columbus. He is survived by his wife Shirley Tackett Mayle of the home, 3 sons, Luther Nelson Mayle of Athens, Lawrence M. Mayle of Amesville and Jason Mayle of Columbus, a step-son James Kennedy of Columbus, 2 daughters, Jo Ann Mayle of Amesville and Elizabeth Mays of Columbus, a step daughter, Yolanda Shaw of Columbus, a brother, Roger Mayle of Malta, a sister, Patricia Miller of Columbus, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Carma Kennedy Mayle, 1 daughter, Loretta Stacy, 4 brothers, Julius, Wayne, Arlis and Richard, sister Chaney Fischer and a grandson Michael. Services will be held on Sat. May 20, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mt. Hermon Church near Amesville. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on the family 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill is handling the arrangements.
