William A. Rayburn, 72, of Malta, passed away on Sat, Dec. 11, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on July 27, 1949 in Washington Court House to the late William and Mary Brown Rayburn.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.   He worked as a truck driver and was a member of the American Legion Post # 24 in McConnelsville.  Bill loved spending his time with all of his family.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy King Rayburn of the home, 3 daughters, Nichole Boyce of Marietta, Mary Rayburn of Malta and Terri Rayburn of Malta, a sister, Dian Channels of Xenia, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, Mary Ann, Kay, Von, Ruth and Debbie and a brother Gene.  Services will be held on Weds, Dec. 15, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery with veteran services.  Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the services on the day of the funeral.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
