Obituary

Wilma Leone Waxler, 98, of Tucson, AZ, passed away January 10, 2014, in Tucson, at her daughter, Penny and Joe Atkinson's home.

She would have been 99 on March 18, 2014. She was the second daughter of Edward and Ester Clawson.

Mrs. Waxler was a housewife and seamstress for many years and was a 43-year member of the Malta United Methodist Church.

She married Paul A. Scott in 1932. They had two daughters, Carmeda (James) Taylor of Malta and Penelope (Joe) Atkinson of Tucson, AZ. She lost Paul in 1945, in WWII.

She later married, in 1947, Edgar Drake of Malta. They were blessed with a son, David, in 1950. She married Carl Waxler on June 20, 1969 and lived many years in Zanesville. She is also survived by one sister, Roberta (Darl) Campbell of Reynoldsburg; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, David, and wife, Sandie; husbands; three sisters; and three brothers.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, and one hour prior to services which will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan 20, at Malta United Methodist Church in Malta with Pastor Bill Bentley officiating.

Burial will follow in McConnelsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Malta United Methodist Church.
