Arlie Logue Obituary

Arlie Maxine Reeder Logue passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020.  She was 99 years, 5 months, and 1 day old.  People would comment on her age when she was still living on her own, and tell her how wonderful it was to be such an age.  She always said "I don't recommend it".

Maxine was born May 23, 1921 at the home of her grandparents, Jacob and Cecelia Lawson.  They lived above the store they owned and operated in Rosedale, West Virginia.

Maxine was a feisty individual
- to the very last.  She loved a good game of Scrabble, Chinese Checkers, and working out cryptograms.

During WWII, she lived in California and worked as a drill press operator and as a welder.  Near the end of the war she secured a position at the War Price and Rationing Board in Akron, Ohio.  When the war ended, so did that job.  She next applied at Western Union in Philadelphia.  She worked both as an operator and a supervisor and training new hires.  She retired from there after 35 years.

Maxine met and married her husband Joseph B. Logue in 1968, and they were married until his death in 1995.  He was a Marine and worked on the docks as a supervisor after he left the service. After they were married, the couple moved to New Jersey and continued to work until they both retired.  The couple had no children.  However, they made many lifelong friendships and she was close to her husbands' family as well as her own.

Maxine moved to Ohio in 2006 to be closer to her own family where she was much loved.  She was the second of three daughters of Harley J. and Sylvia L. Reeder.  She was also preceded in death by her older sister, Wanda Donlin, younger sister and her husband, June and Bern Wilson, a nephew Blaine Bennett, and great-nephew Blaine Bennett, Jr., and a niece by marriage, Janet Wilson.

Maxine is survived by nephews David Wilson, Charles (Mary Margaret) Wilson, Wayne (Donna) Wilson and niece Carol (Dewey) Collins).  She has three great- nephews, Jared (Natasha) Sinkowski, Corey (Sarah) Wilson and Levi Wilson, and two great- nieces, Molly (Chad) Gregg and Jennifer (John) Ekleberry.  She also has seven great-great nephews, Gabriel Gregg, Ivan Sinkowski, Eric Sinkowski, Jaxon Wilson, Michael Bennett, Damien Bennett and Nicholas Ekleberry; and two great-great nieces, Bethany Gregg and Georgia Wilson.

Maxine was quite the character and left a mark on everyone she ever had contact with.  She was a member of the Church of Christ, and has gone forward to her eternal rest.  She will be missed and she will always be remembered and loved.

At her request, there will be no viewing or service in Ohio, but she is to be cremated and laid to rest next to her husband, Joe, in the IOOF Cemetery in Medford, New Jersey.
