Calvin V. Parmiter

Calvin V. Parmiter, 83, of McConnelsville, passed away on Mon, Oct. 2, 2023 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville.  He was born on July 5, 1940 in McConnelsville to the late Alvin B. and Rose Vulcano Parmiter.  He was a graduate of Morgan-Meigs grade school, M&M High School and a Civil Engineering graduate of Tri-State College in Angola Indiana.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965.  He worked as a Civil Engineer for the State of Ohio, AEP and Central Ohio Coal Co.  He was the Morgan County Engineer from 1993-1998.  He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Corinthian Lodge 111 and the American Legion Post 24.  He is survived by a son Alvin Barry Parmiter of Celina, 2 daughters, Michele (Chris) Costello of McConnelsville and Erin (Stacy) Huffman of McConnelsville and 4 grandchildren, Lukas and Dylan Nesselroad and Calvin and Benton Parmiter.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rita Hancher Parmiter and a brother, Alvin Parmiter.  At Calvin’s request his body has been donated to the Ohio University Medical College.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.
