Chris Alan Funk, 63, of Malta, passed away on Mon, Dec. 18, 2023 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 28, 1960 in Marietta, Ohio to Francis and Mary Hambel Funk. He retired from ODOT Dist. 10 after 32 years and also worked the morning shift at the Ashland Station in McConnelsville before going to work. After retirement he returned to work at BOCA Construction and then at Complete General Contractors as an equipment operator. He was a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge #111 in McConnelsville, Alladin Masonic Temple in Columbus and the Athens Hog Chapter. He spent his free time riding his Harley, being outdoors with his family, helping others and loving his animals. He is survived by his father, Francis Funk of McConnelsville, wife of 44 years, Meg Drake Funk of the home, son, Andrew Funk of Grove City, daughters, Katie (Jason) Roberts of Malta and Jennifer Funk of Malta, 2 sisters, Lorrie (Tim) Bowman of McConnelsville and Gretchen (Mike) Harper of Malta and 5 grandchildren, Becca, Gage, Nathan, Rowan and Charlie. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hambel Funk and a grandson, Hudson Roberts. Services will be held on Fri, Dec. 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Zion Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Thurs, Dec. 21 from 5-8 P.M. A masonic service will be held at 8 P.M. following the visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or to the Funk Medical Fund at the North Valley Bank in Malta.
