Clara Louise Jago

Clara Louise Jago, 86, of Amesville, passed away on Sun, June 4, 2023 at the O’Bleness Hospital in Athens.  She was born on March 13, 1937 in Chesterhill, Ohio to the late Deighton and Dorothy Chapman Massey.  She worked for over 32 years at the Amesville Elementary School as a teacher’s aide and Librarian.  She was a member of the Amesville Chit Chat Club and loved to bake her famous pies.  She is survived by her husband of 66 Years, Ashia Jago of the home, 3 sons, Martin Jago of Athens, Steven (Pamela) Jago of Oregon,Oh and Scott “Kelly” (Sue) Jago of Amesville, a daughter, Conda Jago of Amesville, 2 brothers, James Dillie of Amesville and John (Pat) Massey of Reynoldsburg, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a special niece Toni Jago Holdcroft of Amesville.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother George “Buddy” Massey, 5 sisters, Jean Glines, Ruth Robinson, Leona Brown, Eleanor Robinson and Judith Starlin.  Services will be held on Thurs, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Mound Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family on Weds, June 7 from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
