Cleo M. Keffer of Stockport passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Riverside Nursing Home in McConnelsville. Born July 8, 1922 in Spencer, WV to Henry R. and Gracie Bissell Keffer. He married Dorothy L. (Weaver) Keffer on August 17, 1946. She preceded him in death March 29, 2000. Cleo served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was wounded in action and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the Church of Christ and had served as teacher, Deacon and Elder. He is the last charter member of the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department. And the oldest active male voter in Morgan County History. He retired from Clevite, bearing division. He is survived by sons, Richard (Carole) Keffer of Stockport, Daniel (Julie Nutter) Keffer of Malta, daughter, Louise (Steve) Gifford of Stow, OH. Grandchildren Doug (Sabrina) Gifford, Lisa (Keith) Ogg, Brenda (Mike) Hendershot, Eric (Tiffany) Keffer, Jeremy (Janelle) Keffer, Joe (Haley) Keffer, Sarah (Tommy Apperson) Keffer and Robert Williams. Great-Grandchildren Haleigh, Tori, Jordyn, Mykal, Ella, Hannah, Ryan, Shala, Paisley, Baylor, Lawson, Elizabeth, Emma and Alyssa. Great-Great grandchildren Beau, Brantley, Brenley, Braxton and Bella. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy, brothers Oral, Charles, Leroy and Oris (infant): sisters Ulva Wolfe, Chlorus Holland and Luella Graham. daughter-in-law Lori Keffer. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 18 at Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville from 10:00 until 12:00 with services at 12:00 with Pastor Rob Tuttle officiating.
