Denny Linscott Obituary

Denny Galen Linscott went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 20, 2020 at 2:10 A.M. in Lancaster, Ohio.  He was born June 15, 1957 to Mary Rosalie White Linscott and the late Denzil Galen Linscott in Marietta, Ohio.  After graduating from Morgan High School in 1975, Denny enlisted in the United States Air Force and trained at Lackland, Texas.  Shortly after basic training he was sent to Madrid, Spain where he worked on small aircraft for approximately 2 years.  The last year of service was spent in Chanute, Il.  Denny had many jobs during his life, he worked at Central Ohio Coal Company as a grader Man, was employed at Morgan Meigsville Township and in 2000 thru present was a feeder driver for UPS in Columbus.  Denny had a big heart and a heart of gold.  He was a great mechanic and loved fixing and working on cars, trucks, 4 wheelers, tractors, there was nothing he wouldn’t try to tackle which also included electrical and plumbing.  He loved to talk and he loved to sing and just have fun!  Denny loved people, family and friends and he was loved in return.  Back in 1975 he along with others worked to restore Galen Finley’s home in McConnelsville and in the 80’s and 90’s he loved being in the demo derbies at the Morgan County Fair on a yearly basis and later entering stock car racing.  He was a member of Local #1604 United Mine Workers of America and the Teamster Union with UPS.  Aside from his mother, He leaves behind his daughter, Amanda (Ray) Spurgeon of Tn, and his sons, Denver Linscott of the home and Zachary(Brandy Jolly) Powell of Bamberg, Sc, He is also survived by his wife Jennifer Powell, grandchildren, Brandon, Dekota and Dre’ and his sisters, Debbie (Joe) Linscott-Windau of Columbus and Darla (Gary Mummey) Linscott of Zanesville, a brother, Danny (Tami) Linscott of Cambridge and mother-in-law and close friend Arline Bennett along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father and a sister Dixie Lyons.  A visitation will be held on Sat. Jan. 25, 2020 from 10 A.M.-1:00 P.M. with funeral services following at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
