Donald Lloyd Richardson, age 88, of Baltimore, Ohio, (previously of Chesterhill, Ohio) went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care Pickering House, in Lancaster, Ohio. Don was born on July 27, 1935, in DeGraff, Ohio, by his parents, the late Mary Bell (Williams) and Anthony Howard Richardson.
Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha (Mehler) Richardson; his son Donald Lee Richardson (Deb Reel); and his daughter, Carolyn Richardson (Dana) Burt.
Donald is survived by his children, Robert (Susan) Richardson, Baltimore, Ohio; Beth Anne Richardson, Baltimore, Ohio; Susie Richardson (Joe) Cauley, Mechanicsburg, Ohio; and Daniel (Sharri) Richardson, Stockport, Ohio. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don worked at Westinghouse in Columbus, Ohio; owned an upholstery shop, was a skilled leather crafter; and later owned Salvage and Surplus, in Harrisburg, Ohio, before he retired to Chesterhill, Ohio, where he continued his leather crafting.
Don was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a faithful Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a "lost soul seeker". You never found him without Bible tracts in his pocket, and he made sure to give them out wherever he would go. Don usually asked people the following question: "If you died today, would you be in heaven or hell?" knowing that the most important decision a person could make is to accept the free gift of salvation by putting their faith and trust in the One who lived a sinless life; bled and died on the cross; and rose again the third day; to save the lost, the One and only true God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill is handling arrangements. A graveside service will be held at the Richardson Cemetery, 870 Plantsville Rd, Chesterhill, Ohio 43728, on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
