Obituary

Gary D. Foster, 75 passed peacefully at Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville, Ohio on Sunday evening, August 28th.  He was a member of the IBEW Local 9 Chicago for 55+ years which allowed him many adventures all of the United States and other countries.  He was a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge 111 in McConnelsville.  The majority of his career as a Journeymen Lineman was spent living in Alaska where he didn’t know a stranger.  He loved the Alaskan lifestyle, people and overall atmosphere not to mention the beautiful scenery.  His love of Morgan County, family and friends brought him home where he farmed and collected a variety of animals including Highlander cattle.  He was preceded in death by his parents Eleanor Marshall and Dana Foster.  He is survived by son Toby (Kim) Foster of Forest, VA and daughter Tracie (Greg) Huffman of McConnelsville, siblings, Tim (Becky) Foster, Kay Ross, Penny (George) Kenney, Linda (Marion) Reed, Jeff (Jackie) Foster and Cinda (Mike) Woodyard, grandchildren, Lindsey, Grant, Coral, Jade and Clay and great grandchildren, Jase, Aubree Grace and Abraham.  His last several years were spent with his beloved dog Gretchen by his side.  You rarely saw him without her.  Contributions can be made to Morgan County SPOT in honor of dad.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
