Hildegard K. Cox

Hildegard Klara Oertelt Cox, 90, of Kenosha, WI passed away on November 27, 2022.  She was born on June 20, 1932 in Langenau Kr. Löwenberg Schlesien, Germany.  She was the daughter of Richard and Selma Klara Oertelt.  She married Elbert Cox in 1955 and moved to Bartlett OH, where they started a family.  She is survived by three sons, Galen (Robin) Cox of Vincent, OH; Richard (Janet) Cox of Winthrop Harbor, IL; William (Michele) Cox of Wadsworth, IL. Four grandchildren,  Nathan (Melissa) Cox of Zanesville; OH, Ryan Cox of Waterford, OH; Kayle (Alex) Newberry of Pleasant Prairie, WI And Karissa Cox of Kenosha, WI.  Four great-grandchildren, Trevor Cox of Zanesville, OH; Lynne Cox of Waterford, OH; Bryson and Maison Newberry of Pleasant Prairie, WI.  Hilde was one of ten children and is survived by 2 sisters, Ilse Straubel and Sieglinde Hahn, both living in Germany.  She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Helmut, Heinz, Herbert, Gerhard, Erich and Gunther, and one sister, Gretel, She worked in the Warren Local schools as a janitor until she moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1978. There she worked as a hostess for Felicia’s, Hillcrest and Home-Run restaurants.  The family wishes to thank her friend, Dr. Raaid Museitif and family.  Thank you to the nursing staff and CNA staff at Manor Care Nursing Home in Kenosha, WI.  Special thanks to nurse Lilly for playing German faith music and sitting with her on your day off, you were awesome. Words cannot express our appreciation to Heather of St Croix Hospice, for the loving care you gave our mother in her time of need.  Visitation will be on Saturday, December 3 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, December 3 at Stone-Matheny Funeral Home in Chesterhill, OH. with Pastor Steve McGuire officiating.  Burial will follow at the Bartlett Cemetery.
