Joyce K. Woodward

Joyce Kay Woodward, 64, of Malta, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Genesis Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville.  She was born on July 5, 1955 in Canto to the late Virgil and Mary Ellen Tracy Carpenter.  She retired from the Mt. Aloysius Boys Home in New Lexington.  She is survived by her significant other Larry Spitzer of the home, a daughter, Memory (Chris) Hanson of McConnelsville, a brother, Howard Carpenter of New Matamoras, 4 sisters, Patsey Carpenter of Barnesville, Sharon Johnson of Michigan, Rose Moore of Steubenville and Betty Landers of Lifkins, TX and 2 grandchildren, Chaz and Mia Hanson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd Woodward Jr. and a sister, Barbara Carpenter.  A private family visitation will be held from 11-12 P.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with a service following.  Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery in Portersville.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Matheney funeral home to help with expenses.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
