Obituary of Juanita Bess Adkins
Juanita (Willard) Adkins passed away on Sun, Dec. 13, 2020 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. Juanita was born in East Liverpool, Ohio to Wilbert (Bert) Willard and Mary Willard on February 5th 1924. She was preceded in death by Her parents, Her Husband Richard, and her five siblings Wilbert, Virgil, Jim, Jiggs and Roberta. She worked at the Homer Laughlin China company as a teenager, then met and married Richard Adkins and moved to Stockport Ohio in the early 50s. In Stockport they resided on the family farm. She also spent some time working in Columbus for the R.G. Berry Company. Then moved back to Stockport where she spent the rest of her life. She also worked as a telephone operator. The job she loved was her position at the Malta manufacturing company. Where she was able to use her gifts of management and public speaking. After retiring she started a greenhouse business on the farm. She operated this business until her mid-80s. Juanita was a member of the Stockport united Methodist church and the Pennsville united Methodist church and Her last conversations were always about going home and being with her savior Jesus the Christ. Juanita is survived by her only son, Fred Adkins (wife Mary), and Two Grandchildren Aimee Adkins Francis (Bill) and Clint Adkins (Ashlie), three great grandchildren Reagan Francis, Cameron Adkins, and, Isabelle Adkins. She will be missed by all. At this time there will be no service due to pandemic conditions. We hope to have a memorial service when conditions allow.
