Lloyd P. Drake “Lefty”, 81, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sept. 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 26, 1938 in Marietta, Ohio to Hillis and Evelyn McGrew Drake. He graduated from Beverly High School in 1956 and attended Marietta College before working over 30 years for Ohio Power at the Muskingum River Plant. He was a 40year member of the M&M Vol. Fire Dept. as well as a member of the Corinthian Lodge # 111 Masonic Order in McConnelsville. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, watching sports (especially Ohio State), traveling with Peggy and spending time with his family, especially supporting his grandkids. He is survived by his wife Peggy whom he married on July 12, 1958, daughter, Meg (Chris) Funk of Malta, grandchildren, Jennifer Fox, Katie (Jason) Roberts and Andrew Funk. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Becca Fox, Gage and Rowan Roberts and Nathan and Charlie Funk as well as a close cousin Joan (Neil) Dearth and a brother Gary (Barb) Drake. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clyde Drake and a grandson Hudson Roberts. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Weds. Sept. 9, from 6-8 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M&M Vol. Fire Dept.
