Marilyn F. Parsons

Marilyn Faye Parsons 83 of Chesterhill passed away Tuesday Nov. 2  2021at her home.  She was born October 12, 1938 in Pennsville, Ohio to John H. and Freda Hooper Medley.  She was a member of the Tabor Ridge Church of Christ near Stockport.  She was married for almost sixty years to the love of her life Gene Parsons and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marilyn was the second of five sisters and she loved to tell stories about their growing up years in Pennsville. Right up the time of her death she was actively involved in the lives of her family whether she was helping with homework, chauffeuring grandchildren, offering advice or being the best babysitter ever.  She is survived by her four children Cary (Karen) Parsons, Marla (Dan) Slisher, Craig (Sherry Jordan) Parsons and Andrew (Stephanie) Parsons all of Chesterhill.  Five granddaughters Mindy (Gary) Judson, Amy (Jeremy) Kirkbride, Kayla (Josh) McElfresh, Keira Marie Parsons and Alyssa Wilson.  Eight great-grandchildren Raegan and Harleigh Judson; Blake, Brooklyn, Beau and Bailey Kirkbride; Shelby and Maggie McElfresh.  She is also survived by two sisters Martha Harlow of McConnelsville and Mary (Cletus) Miller of Middlebury, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters Margaret Mosier and Muriel McGrew.  Services will be held on Sun, Nov. 7, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tabor Ridge Church of Christ with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family on Sat, Nov. 6 from 4-7 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.mathenyfh.com.
