Mary R. Brill

Mary Ruth Brill, 88, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Sat. April 29, 2023.  She was born on Aug. 21, 1934 in Reinersville, Ohio. The daughter of the late Scott Brill and Nettie (Alva) Pickenpaugh.  She was known affectionately by her friends and co-workers as Ruthie.  She was the most amazing cook her family and friends knew.  She loved to travel, take road trips and try new restaurants.  She also loved flowers, trips to Amish Country and shopping.  She loved being “The Mamaw” and grandma Ruth to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She made everyone feel special and loved.  She is survived by a son, Daniel (Theresa) Thompson and her daughter Debra (Thomas) Norman.  Grandchildren, Jr (Jen) Thompson, Corrie (Nick) Calendine, Tracey (Scott) Boyer, David Thompson, Cacie Jewell, April (Jeff) Kennington, Crista (Craig) Gee and Tara Thompson Madden, Great grandchildren, Jaiden, Jazlyn, Kaylee, Logan, Jensyn, Jacob, Mason, Kenai, Addison and Faith.  She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 step-brothers and 4 step-sisters.  Services will be held on Thurs, May 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Reinersville Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family from 11-1:00 P.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
