Rex Hosom

Rex O. Hosom, 83, of Malta, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at his residence.  He was born on March 9, 1936 in Malta, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mary Vorhies Hosom.  He retired from Malta Manufacturing and then worked for the Morgan County Public Transit.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and attended the 7th Day Adventist Church in McConnelsville.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred Lindsey Hosom of the home, 2 daughters, Becky Dille of McConnelsville and Beth Wright of Marietta, 3 sisters, JoAnn Raines of Pennsville, Barbara Rainey of Philo and Debbie Talbot of McConnelsville, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, Carlos, Jerry, Raymond and Roy Hosom.  Services will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  Burial with veteran services will follow in the Malta Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 5-7 P.M.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite Veteran Association.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
