Rinda Bell Obituary

Rinda Jo Bell died peacefully on February 16th 2024 at the Rumford Community home in Rumford Maine. Born March 16th 1947 in Martins Ferry Ohio. Rinda was the oldest child of Joe H. and Ethel M (Harris) Bell.  Rinda was educated at Malta Elementary School and graduated from M & M High School in McConnelsville. Class of 1966, Home of the “Big Reds” Rinda was raised on Poplar Ridge, outside of Malta Ohio with her mom, dad and siblings Leslie, Becky and Debbie. Growing up Rinda liked to help mom with household chores and she enjoyed baking with her…she used to make a mean green bean casserole. She learned many things in 4-H and was a member for a number of years. Rinda always had her smile on, especially when she greeted the nieces and nephews. She liked family gatherings where she could show off her green bean casserole. Rinda was a traveler. She had her first camping trip at 1 week old. Traveled to visit siblings in Maine and Indiana and Texas. Traveled for work (Florida, Dayton and Athens) Growing up she used to spend time with the grandparents in St Clairsville and Fairpoint Ohio. Fishing with dad and grandpa bell was an experience also…ask Les how that went. Rinda loved the outdoors, going to Fairs (Morgan Co Fair and Coshocton Fair) her favorite. Rinda was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coshocton, Ohio. After graduating high school Rinda answered an ad in the Zanesville Times for a position at Echoing Hills in Warsaw Ohio. She was hired with open arms. She ended up working several jobs while at Echoing Hills. Her best job was being an aid to the residence of Echoing Hills. She would travel with the residence to a lot of Special Olympic events throughout Ohio and Florida. She worked for 38 years at Echoing Hills. She also met the love of her life at Echoing Hills, Cloyd Cambell. They were engaged to be married. Cloyd passed away before they could be married.  She was predeceased by her mother and father, a niece Amy (Helwig) Egly also her fiance .  Rinda is survived by her brother Leslie and wife Patty (Labreque), Becky (Helwig) and John and Debbie (Sharp) and partner Roy Cunningham. Also, many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.  A heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful staff at the Rumford Community Home, Androscoggin Hospice and Meader & Son Funeral Home as well as Matheney Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held on Sat, March 2, 2024 from 10-12 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with a graveside service following in the Belmont Memorial Park in St. Clairsville at 2:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to either Echoing Hills, 36272 Co Rd 79 Warsaw OH 43844 or Rumford Community Home, 11 John F Kennedy Ln, Rumford Me 04276.
